The best part of my job is seeing a family’s relief when we tell them we have a solution, and a plan, to find a home for their family belongings or to help them downsize. Nothing is better than taking that burden off their hands.I grew up in a family that loved and collected antiques, so starting an estate sales service with my mother was a natural fit, especially since it combined my love of all things vintage with my need to help others.
As a Seattle estate sales company, Bedknobs and Broomsticks stands out because we focus on our clients’ needs and goals above all else. It’s not a one size fits all estate sales process. By concentrating on each client’s unique needs, every sale has its own personality, but the end goal is always the same: A sale that’s successful for our client, as well as fun for our shoppers! When I’m not helping my customers simplify their lives, I enjoy spending time with my little “Dorkie”, a Dachshund/Yorkie mix. After a long day, nothing makes me happier than seeing his cute little furry face! I also enjoy traveling, when I can, and have visited 30 countries to date, learning something about the world and me on each journey. And I do have a weakness for collecting some vintage stuff, but something you’d never guess about me…as a child, I raced dirt bikes and was second in state out of 200 boys when I was 6!
My path to estate sales came from my roots. I grew up around antiques and collectables. My grandparents ran the first radio and TV repair shop in Monroe, Washington and would sometimes trade work for valuable items, including antiques. My mother loved them, as well, so it was only natural that I inherited the “collectibles” gene. And now I’ve parlayed my love and understanding of collectibles and vintage items to Bedknobs and Broomsticks Estate Sales, a business I created with my daughter. Through a mutual appreciation for special things we offer a service that simplifies our clients’ lives and provides a home for their family treasures.
I know from first-hand experience that handling a loved one’s estate isn’t an easy job. I did it for my parent’s home. And that’s probably why I wound up in estate sales as a profession. It’s a service I can provide others by combining my expertise with selling items with my need to help others get through a particularly stressful period in their lives. My job is to take away a lot of burden away for my clients, to help them liquidate the belongings of a home and get it ready for the next stage. And Bedknobs and Broomsticks does this efficiently and productively. In fact, our estate sales have now helped hundreds of families throughout the Seattle area get the results they desired, in a caring, professional manner. So, whether you’re moving, downsizing or managing a loved one’s estate, my daughter and I know the importance of your family treasures and, by working with your goals, we’ll help find homes for them.
